School-to-Home Communication Platform for all of Newton CSD
ParentSquare is our district’s go-to tool for school-to-home communication. It’s designed to keep families, students, and the community connected and informed. Whether it’s sharing photos of student projects, posting weekly classroom updates, or sending reminders about important events like conferences or upcoming assessments, ParentSquare helps build a strong partnership between school and home. Teachers are encouraged to use it regularly to highlight what’s happening in their classrooms, celebrate student learning, and share practical reminders—like remembering to bring a charged Chromebook. The more we communicate, the stronger the connection we create with our families.
Here are a few tips to help you get started or level up your ParentSquare posts:
-
Keep it consistent – Consider a regular weekly post (like a Friday update) so families know when to expect classroom news.
-
Make it visual – Add a photo or graphic to catch attention. Snap a picture of a student project, a classroom display, or a behind-the-scenes moment from your day.
-
Be informative – Use your posts to share what students are learning, remind families about upcoming assessments or assignments, or highlight important dates like conferences or testing windows.
-
Keep it short & friendly – A few clear, positive sentences go a long way. Make it feel like a quick chat with families.
-
Include practical reminders – From Chromebook charging to field trip forms, small reminders can help things run smoothly at school and at home.
